Lincoln Collins is a senior financial services executive with an entrepreneurial spirit. He led the launch of The Hartford’s European life insurance businesses as its Chief Executive Officer and within four years generated sales over $1.25 billion and was a top-ten provider of both variable annuities and private pensions. The company achieved top industry awards for product innovation, marketing, customer service, technology and was named a Financial Times Top 50 Workplace in the United Kingdom.
Prior to The Hartford, Lincoln helped launch American Skandia as employee number 14 in 1988. He led Skandia’s strategy and product development teams before being named Chief Operating Officer. Lincoln led the development of the annuity platform as well as mutual funds, 401k, and variable life product lines. Known for innovative product, marketing and use of technology to support sales, Skandia raised over $43 billion in assets before Prudential Financial purchased the company in 2003 for $1.2 billion.
Lincoln lives in San Francisco with his wife and two children and he enjoys mountain biking, running, skiing and sailing. He is a board member of First Graduate, a program dedicated to helping young people in the San Francisco bay area become the first members of their families to graduate from college, and he enjoys participating in the Marin Highlanders Rugby Club.
Wade Dokken has 25 years experience as an annuity marketing innovator and senior life company executive manager. Wade was the face of American Skandia, leading its sales and marketing from launch in 1988, as well as the marketing and sales innovator.
Moving from National Sales Manager to Chief Marketing Officer at American Skandia, Wade led the development of one of the industry’s highest performing sales teams, reaching 125 field wholesalers in the wirehouse, bank and financial planner channels, and selling variable annuity, 401k, mutual fund and variable life. American Skandia was perennially the VA leader in the financial planner channel and American Skandia’s wholesaling and marketing teams routinely received the highest scores from Market Metrics in key quality measures. Wade was named CEO in 2000, and led the sale of the company through Goldman Sachs to Prudential Financial for $1.2 billion in 2003.
After the sale of American Skandia, Wade, his wife and three boys traveled the world for a year, and lived in Italy as part of an international education experience for the children. Now living in Bozeman, Montana, Wade and his family are avid skiers, hikers and participants in all the outdoor pursuits of Southwestern Montana. As Vice President of Sales, Matt Sawyer brings 22 years of experience in the financial services industry to WealthVest Marketing. Matt’s goal is combine his expertise in marketing, practice management, and service excellence to provide a best in class experience to advisors who build a partnership with WealthVest Marketing.
Working for well-known organizations like DWS Investments, Putnam Investments, and Lincoln Financial Distributors, Matt has established a track record of selling a variety of financial products across all distribution channels. In addition, he has built consultative and trusting relationships with his clients and understands the issues facing advisors in today’s environment.
Matt holds both Series 7 and 64 licenses, and has experience in the manufacture, distribution, and utilization of traditional products and alternative investments. He has completed Fusion Training, Impact Performance Group Training, and Advanced Practice Management Training. He has worked extensively with clients incorporating structured products and alternative investments in building diversified, risk sensitive portfolios.
Matt and his wife Gina live in Bozeman, MT with their three children. His passions away from work include snowboarding, wake-boarding, mountain biking and golf.
Les is a veteran in the financial services industry, with experience that spans four decades. His career in Financial Services began in the early 1980’s, as an account executive with EF Hutton. As a top producing broker in his class, his book included futures, managed money, insurance and individual securities.
Les became a retail wholesaler in 1986 and the success he attained in that position evolved into an institutional role with the premier provider of retirement and pension benefits in the industry. He entered the annuity business with American Skandia as a wirehouse wholesaler in 1993 and eventually became a managing member of the team that led the industry in innovation, annuity sales and the development of cutting edge marketing tools. At American Skandia, Les held managing positions in sales and distribution as a Divisional Sales and National Sales Manager, and National Account Sales Manager, covering all channels of distribution.
From 2001-2008, Les served as President and Chief Sales Officer of MetLife Investors Distribution Company and President of General American Insurance Company, a subsidiary of MetLife. He built teams that were focused on results and helped the firm become recognized as the number one sales and marketing company providing retirement planning solutions including life and annuity products. Always a team player, the management team he created was critical to the success of the Fortune 50’s successful acquisition of Travelers in 2003.
A licensed Charter Boat Captain, Les is an avid fly fisherman who enjoys his family, cooking, the bagpipes and SEC football. He and Carrie reside in Bozeman, MT at the base of the Bridger Mountains.
As Vice President of Marketing, Dana manages WealthVest’s marketing strategy and promotion initiatives, with a focus on growing the business and helping financial advisors build their practices.
She and her team focus on the development of metrics and measurement systems to determine effectiveness of marketing campaigns and other initiatives. Dana and her team drive the execution of strategic marketing initiatives, including new product launches, and develop collateral, identify relevant themes and topics for thought leadership and marketing product output, and develop training and other materials for use in the sales process.
Dana has worked as a brand strategist and a new business consultant — helping to launch emerging brands and build brand value for existing brands. As a Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle, Dana served as the onsite relationship manager for one of the Firm’s largest clients and spearheaded the Best Practices Intranet site.
Dana and her husband live in Bozeman, Montana with their three daughters, where they enjoy skiing, hiking, and traveling to soccer tournaments.
As Vice President of Customer Service and Operations, Kim guides WealthVest’s licensing, appointment and new business processing teams, ensuring WealthVest’s commitment to an exceptional customer experience.
Kim has worked across a wide variety of disciplines, including marketing, general management, finance and operations for both large corporations, including Miller Brewing Company and General Motors, and small businesses, such as Lone Mountain Guest Ranch in Big Sky, Montana. Kim’s professional experiences and her educational background have given her a holistic view of business and a strong understanding of the importance of the interconnectivity of marketing, sales and operations. The seamless integration of these functions ensures the delivery of a positive customer experience.
Kim holds an undergraduate degree from The University of the South in Economics and MBA from Vanderbilt University. Kim and her husband Mark live in Manhattan, Montana spending much of their free time fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing and cooking with their dogs Jack and Annie.
As Vice President of Information Technology, Dan is responsible for WealthVest’s technology infrastructure and IT strategies.
Throughout his career of more than 25 years, Dan has held a wide variety of positions in IT and software development including programmer, architect, project manager, development manager, product manager, and CTO. From Wall Street to Silicon Valley, Dan has managed and developed systems for financial services, high-tech, and government organizations. Dan has also held positions as a financial advisor at Smith Barney and at Oracle in CRM product management. At WealthVest, Dan and his team focus on delivering tools, technologies, and processes to empower the entire organization and advance the company’s competitive advantage.
Dan has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Buffalo and an MBA from Emory University. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, Evelyn, where they enjoy the many fine dining and cultural experiences the city has to offer, traveling, and the great outdoors.
Kevin Connor comes to WealthVest Marketing from Hartford Life Distributors, where he led the marketing and distribution of The Hartford’s broker-sold retirement and investment products – including annuities, mutual funds, retirement plans, and 529 college savings plans. Kevin was responsible for all distribution functions, including internal and external sales, marketing and sales support, strategic relationship management, and business development.
Kevin began his career at PLANCO – one of the nations’ oldest, largest and most respected financial product wholesaling firms – in 1981 as a regional marketing director. He was a consistent top producer in several territories, including New York, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. In March of 1988, he was named divisional vice president of the northeastern division, and became PLANCO’s western divisional manager in May of 1991. Kevin was promoted to vice president of financial institution sales in May of 1993.
In 1998, PLANCO became a part of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. As a result of his success, Kevin was chosen in 1999 to direct the continued growth of PLANCO. He oversaw the creation of the Hartford Leaders® management and sales teams, and drove the expansion of the Hartford Leaders product and sales force with proven leadership in areas critical to PLANCO’s success. Kevin accepted the promotion to managing director in September 2000. As a managing director, he helped manage the overall business of PLANCO. The role involved leading PLANCO’s interaction with The Hartford’s product development area and outside investment managers. When PLANCO became part of Hartford Life Distributors in 2008, Kevin was named executive vice president of the organization.
Kevin attended Bloomsburg State University in Pennsylvania. He holds his FINRA Series 6, 26, 51, and 63, and life, health, and disability insurance licenses, as well as his CMFC® designation. Kevin and his wife Gail live in the Philadelphia area with their children, Madison and Jackson.
Ted is an investment and retirement planning specialist with over 30 years in the financial services industry. As National Sales Manager and Director of Institutional Relationships, Ted leads the recruitment, negotiation and day to day management of Marketing Consultants and IMO/AFMO partnerships.
Ted has worked with several Fortune 500 companies, including MetLife, Merrill Lynch and Prudential Financial. He is an Investment Advisor and has worked as a principal in the training and development of hundreds of investment professionals.
Ted entered the annuity industry in
1999 when asked to join the team charged with building a corporate training facility for American Skandia. In this role, he led all senior training for both the Internal and External Sales Force. He eventually returned to the field and managed the Florida territory for Prudential Annuities to sales of nearly $200 million annually.
Ted is a graduate of Bucknell University and earned his master’s degree from Harvard University. He is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer having spent several years teaching English and global culture to Zulu speaking children in South Africa.
In his spare time, he trains for and competes in triathlons at the master’s level. Ted resides with his family and his Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Tom Mazzaferro is an experienced life insurance and annuity accounting and finance executive with 30 years expertise. Tom was a member of the founding executive team at American Skandia, where he rose to become Chief Financial Officer. In that role he was responsible for all financial aspects of the firm including accounting & reporting, planning, tax, actuarial, SEC & regulatory relations, treasury and rating agency management. In addition, he was the President of the Investment Advisor responsible for managing American Skandia’s series of mutual funds. Tom was a lead member in the sale of American Skandia to Prudential Financial. He is active in community service including providing tax preparation and money management for AARP and as a counselor for SCORE.
