Looking for the answer to that question that is driving you wild?
First, identify what that question is. Can you put form to the question that is currently rattling about in your head? For me, it is: “What is important?” What is important for me to take action on today? To know what is important you also need to know what your targets are. This begets another question: what are your targets? If you don’t know what they are then you are in trouble. If you don’t have a target then everything is your target, or its corollary, nothing is your target. How can your mind focus on what is important if you do not know what is important to you? Wisdom is predicated on knowing what your objective is. The more clarity you have on what you want to achieve the easier it will be to attain the wisdom to achieve it.
One of my objectives is to expand my speaking career or with specificity to have another speaking engagement booked by the end of the day.
So when I ask my self ‘What is important’, the answer is simple: be prepared for the conference call I have about booking speaking gigs. I will not allow myself to get sidetracked by the other items on my desk or by the phone ringing.
The mind is an amazing tool when it is used correctly.
